At our
Irish market Jessica Look, David Buderus, and others sold brochures
on Ireland and Dublin, shamrock notecards, and tickets for an "Irish Sweepstakes."
The prize in this lottery was a DM 100,-- coupon to be cashed in at a
local travel agency toward a trip of the winner's choice, hopefully to
Dublin! Caroline and Lisa, two of the Uni interns from Dillenburg, peddled
the tickets in the Mensa expertly, assuring that we sold enough to make
a small profit. Lisa drew out the winning name: Claus Soika of the Mathematics
Department. See Sarah's and Mary's "Fair assessment" texts for a humorous
account of the outcome of selling those shamrock cards the students had
crafted!
