First of all, the trip to Dublin was wonderful. But there was one thing that wasn't so much fun. Let's call it 'An Odyssey through Dublin':
You wanna know why he did? - O.K.
The ways were long - well, as I say
Above. But finding out that there has
Always been a shorter way - what a mess.
One example for you - my favourite day:
What we wanted to see one day
Was St.Patrick's Church - and to stay
Was great after 45 minutes on the go.
But we were fools - 'cause someone show'
Us: It's only two streets from our hotel away!
For those who didn't understand what I wanted to say: It took us 45 minutes one day to reach St.Patrick's Church (don't misunderstand me - it was great, especially the choir singing that afternoon). We went through a lot of streets - too many streets as we were to find out some time later. We felt like Ulysses on his endless odyssey or Leopold Bloom in Joyce's "Ulysses." On our way to the church service early Sunday morning, Cathy showed us that it was only five(!) minutes and two streets away from 'Avalon House'. What else can I say? Maybe that it pays to pray!
