Glimpses of Dublin

The hardest workers during our excursion were not doubt the film crew; Adrian Greipel, Ina Kölzer, and Nina Schweda. They had to try to take part in as many outings as possible, concentrate instead of just enjoy the scenery, miss out on the acrobatic Cliff Walk, and tote heavy equipment everywhere. But the work had just begun; back at home they spent countless hours in the Media Center, previewing the raw material, editing and cutting, adding music, fighting the computers. They were fortunate to have Stefan Schoop's professional and always friendly help in the Media Center; especially in moments of discouragement - our sincere thanks to him, as well as to our loyal and industrious film-makers!!

The result was a VHS edited version of the original digital camera cassettes. It was shown at the Irish Fair, the Alumni Day, GLC class sessions, and the excursion picnic. It captures the atmosphere of Ireland and the excursion excellently! Try to download this excerpt showing our outing to the seaside town of Howth:

Filming the Excursion

From north to south, from east to west and back again. There is probably no place in Dublin that has not been caught by the eye of our camera. We spared no costs and efforts in producing the most ingenious, informative... simply the best film the world has ever seen.
On our way through Dublin, lugging our heavy, extensive equipment, we tried to collect as many impressions as possible. And here are some glimpses into our work:
"Stop! We have to film that again! That stupid idiot over there ran through the picture." -- "Have you switched on the microphone? - Oh, no, I forgot!" -- "I hope you didn't miss that perfect shot. - What shot?" -- "Catch the camera! I tripped over the tripod!" We had to fight against the light, crowd interference, wind, rain, noise...resignation, desperation and sore feet.
We invested much sweat and even tears.
And we´re still hoping for an Oscar!
