Pianos on the moon are very long
And played not with fingers, but with song
It was tiny green men
I saw playing on them.
And dancing around them were their girls,
Their wrists sparkling with bracelets of pearls.
I guess now you think I'm crazy and wrong
But I simply tell you: Go ask Neil Armstrong!
Pianos on the moon are very long
And played not with fingers, but with song
Old moon glows gently, forgets everything around
As he falls in love with the beautiful sound
Melodies hug him, wrap him in tunes
A lullaby especially performed for moons
His light shone bright, he felt so strong -
But then the sun's music rose, so he was wrong!
Pianos on the moon are very long
And played not with fingers, but with song,
Songs rising like spirals in the sky
Make creatures that hear dauntless, not shy.
The speedy melody is surely the key,
To a future of brave beings, not like me....
