After living at the University of York and visiting the University of Leeds, we noted down some features which we wish the University of Siegen could adopt!
- large green spaces within the campus, including a lake and a beautiful park
- dozens of sports areas for football, tennis, track events (“Leichtathletik“), even golf, as well as indoor sports of all types
- Student Center with rooms for group work, student government offices, photocopying center, computer pool, a large grocery store, bookstore with University logo articles, cafe, restaurant, and even a Starbucks!
- lounges in the buildings for relaxation, conversation and group work, as well as benches or large stones outdoors to sit on during breaks between classes; all of these encourage interaction among the students!
- so many animals in the parks – swans, ducks, rabbits, squirrels
- friendly Information Centre for visitors and new students
