Accent Action

Our task was to interview people in York to hear different British accents in general and to find out about the characteristics of the Yorkshire accent in particular. During the interviews we met many different types of people, learned very much about their views on British culture and last but not least had a lot of fun!

• a bookseller talking about his favorite book
• a couple from Newcastle talking about their home
• a "evil eye lounge" waiter telling us about bands
• a seller talking about the English being rude
