Fun, Cooperation, Friendship

How can you tell someone about one special highlight of an excursion to York when there are several you don't want to choose a single one from?

Do you think of the ferry trip from Zeebrügge to Hull when you remember the beginnings of this excursion? Maybe you remember the first experiences in York itself during the city tour the first day when you think of the arrival in this really beautiful county.

Thinking of these nine days there are several pictures coming to my mind... The attendance at the Evensong service in York Minster, the walk through the Jorvik Viking Centre, the trip to Haworth and Phil's short walk through the Yorkshire Dales and his long walk through the North Yorkshire Moors, a very dark tour along one of York’s ghost trails, just to mention some impressions.

The beauty of the countryside and the large number of sightseeing objects is really impressive. And of course there were several activities auxiliary to our itinerary which were real fun, too: long walks through the city, the obligatory visit to the Evil Eye Lounge and our kitchen parties, to keep the list short.

Finally I have to say that the most important and most impressive point on the excursion was the excursion group itself. Everyone can plan a trip to York and do some sightseeing, everyone can take long walks through the city and everyone can visit the Evil Eye Lounge by himself. BUT no one else will have the sort of fun, cooperation and friendship we came to know during our Yorkshire Excursion in 2006. Thanks to all participants especially Cathy and Phil for making this tremendous trip possible!
