In an excursion of many highlights, picking out one single memory is tricky. As an organiser, I can think of a few moments of relief when something that could have gone wrong turned out fine.

Like getting to the ferry at Zeebrugge on time after discovering that departure time was two hours earlier than we’d planned for! (It was our luck that the coach driver was in a hurry to get back to Siegen!)

Or managing (thanks to Tobias) to find somewhere where we could buy enough towels after discovering they weren’t provided in our rooms after all.

Or finding out that Chris and Annika had got back ok after their exhausting but successful mini-excursion to the German embassy in London.

But in the end I think the biggest highlight has to be the group, the participants, the excursionists. Cooperative, cheerful, enterprising, motivated – just fun to be with! YOU were my biggest highlight!
