One of the excursion highlights was our visit to the Brontė Parsonage Museum in Haworth. On entering, a journey back to the 19th century began. The leaflet provided at the entrance helped our orientation in the different rooms and so it was easy to find the objects which were listed. The fact that some of the items shown are the original possessions of the Brontė family made it possible to imagine Anne sitting in her rocking chair or Mr. Brontė working at his desk in front of the fireplace. The displays on the second floor were well structured and gave a wide range of information about the Brontės lives and works. The exhibition certainly encourages the visitor to give the Brontė novels a second look. |
