Selecting a highlight from the excursion wasn’t easy at all because during just nine days, we had seen so many different and absolutely fascinating things that you can’t actually compare them with each other.

Looking back, I have to admit that I was astonished by the beautiful landscapes. Standing on a hill and looking ahead, the adjoining fields, which were just separated by walls of stone or wooden fences, appeared to me as one huge board game. All you could see were many different greens and in between a few grey spots that were actually houses. Here and there was a little brook or a flock of sheep.

But even being on the bus and driving up and down, you sometimes didn’t think you were on the road, because looking out of the window gave you the feeling that you were right in between those interlocking hills.

I think it’s funny because you often see calendars showing beautiful landscapes. Well, they are nice to look at but usually that’s it. Going over my innumerable photos again, with special regard to the landscape ones, I can say that they are really nice but on the other hand they definitely do not represent what we saw because that was much more impressive. Attached are some examples but, as I already said, you need to explore it by yourself!
