My highlight was York at dusk. After we had been to the Evensong we strolled through the city that evening. It was slowly getting dark and the city was becoming empty. The hustle and bustle of the day had made it almost impossible just to look and see without lots of people and enormous noise around you. So, that evening we had the chance to go through the city without hectic people running through the streets and we had enough time to admire the old houses and roads. We went from shop-window to shop-window, ate fish-and-chips, strolled along the bank of the river Ouse and when it had grown completely dark we took the bus back home to the University. ![]() |
