‘Lost’

by Annika Bartmann

When you hear the word ‘Lost’ you might think about the successful American TV series or about one of the “short” walks on various excursions. When I hear the ‘L’ word I think about my wallet. Sadly it got lost or stolen, I’ll never know for sure, on our arrival in Hull, England. The shock, the “short” walk to the police station and the thought about having no money could not lessen my fun on this excursion. Many students comforted me with words like: “Oh, that happened to me before” or “I lost my cell-phone last week”, “Don’t be so sad”. Phil and students who hardly knew me lent me some money. Thank you so much!!! Without you guys I would not have survived.

The funniest times though on this excursion were the card games we played, day and night. If you wanted to know where we were playing, you just had to follow the loud laughter, the screams and cheers. We played Wanted, Wizard, Phase ten, Bonanza, Ligretto and Zigiti. The evenings ended with red faces from too much laughter, red-purplish hands from playing Wanted. We had as well a broken bracelet, some scratches and sadly a few glasses of wine spilled on the table/floor. It was so much fun and I wouldn’t have wanted to miss a single one of the games we played. Back in Germany I started to buy these games. Thanks for a wonderful excursion.
