my personal high(low-)light

My personal lowlight (apart from disappointing, overpriced and boring Jane Austen Centre):

Giant's step
When I was walking down Bristol road
After a jolly ride by boat
And looking up to Clifton Suspension Bridge
I stepped on something soft, but cold as a fridge.
Not knowing what it was I looked down:
A squirrel - inanimate! And grey, not brown.
A fierce squirrel - still alive!

My personal highlight
Kingswood SchoolMy personal highlight was, of course, visiting Kingswood School on Thursday. I had been looking forward to visiting this school ever since Sascha and I had explored the school's homepage and seen wonderful pictures of the building. Since the contact with Mr. Duke via e-mail was very intensive and because he seemed to be very pleased about our upcoming visit, I could not wait to meet him. The program, although very busy (as well as Mr. Duke himself), turned out to be highly interesting and the staff involved were very kind. The buildings as well as the whole estate were by far more impressive than I had expected them to be.
All in all we spent some great hours at Kingswood School and obtained an exceptional insight into a British private boarding school, its lessons and its daily routines. It was definitely worth getting up early at 6 o'clock in the morning! And thanks again to Phil for converting his Mercedes into a cab.
It looks as if one of the school visitors will apply for an assistant teacher job at Kingswood and be fortunate enough to work together with The Duke. Good luck!
