at home with Harry Potter and Terry Pratchett

kingswood school I really enjoyed the trip to Bath in general. I've never been to an English-speaking country before, so this experience was quite a fun and interesting one. Finally I had the chance to talk to native speakers in their home context and figure out what it is like to speak the language more than a couple of hours a week at the university.
The city of Bath reminded me a bit of Italy with all its ancient little alleys and backstreets, and the wonderful sunny weather completed the image.
One of the greatest experiences was the trip to Kingswood school. Unfortunately we were forbidden to take pictures of the students who were very nice and obliging. The school was impressive, even overwhelming.
The dining room reminded me of the Harry Potter movies, which was kind of funny for me as a "movie freak":

I also loved the trip through Wiltshire where one of my favourite authors lives - Terry Pratchett. It was quite a cool feeling to pass through this area and actually see a couple of the influences on his books such as the Avebury Ring.
And last, but not least our trip gave me the chance to actually meet my friend Jessie and talk to her, a native speaker, for a whole day during Nadine's, Regina's and my trip to the beautiful city of London. I'm very thankful for this opportunity.
All in all, it was a wonderful trip. I got to know many interesting people and places and I'm looking forward to coming excursions!!
