extraordinary Bristol

It took me quite a while to figure out what - of all the great moments we spent during the excursion - was my personal highlight.
Certainly there was our kitchen party with Tom, which was really awesome. :-)
Then there was the trip to Stonehenge on Wednesday, which gave us the opportunity to see Stonehenge as probably only few tourists can: we could be in the Inner Circle without hundreds of other people around.
CathedralBut I guess what I liked best was Bristol. In comparison to Bath, Bristol had a completely different atmosphere. Like in Bath, there were still traces of the past: You could find some very amazing old buildings there, such as the Cathedral and the University Tower. But in contrast to Bath, I had the impression that Bristol had the atmosphere of an even more vibrant and more alternative city. Bristol is a city connected to alternative music and it was great to see lots of rock fans, punks and "metalheads" just blending in with the crowd and giving the city a touch of the 80s and 90s. For some reason, this was one of the pictures I have always had in mind whenever I thought about Britain und music.
It was this stunning mixture of different "eras" from the past and very modern parts of the city that made Bristol extraordinary.
