Thermae Bath Spa: luxurious relaxation

view on bathDuring the (free) walking tour of Bath the Thermae Bath Spa was introduced and aroused our interest. The guide mentioned that the fee is not a bargain but nevertheless, with relaxation on our minds, we entered the foyer of the posh building and took some information material in order to find out how much the entrance fee really is. We noticed that the guide was right - the admission charge is not a bargain but after short consideration, we decided to take a bath during our stay in Bath anyhow.
We decided to go in there one evening because we wanted to see the night-view of Bath. From this decision the next question emerged: on what day?! A look on the excursion program assisted us with decision-making: the evening after the canal walk!
No sooner said than done: we took our bathing togs with us on the walk and after our return to Bath we went (pretty dusty) straight to the Thermae Bath Spa. After having paid, everybody got a bracelet with a computer chip in it. The chip works as a key for the lockers. The interior of the 'swimming bath' is as posh as it is outside; everything is precious, the restrooms and the talking elevators too.
We had access to the Minerva Bath (some kind of relaxation pool with soft light etc), the Steam Rooms (like a sauna but not that hot) and the New Royal Bath (a heated pool on the top of the building) and we used every area copiously.
Our visit was very relaxing and interesting; the view from the top of the building of Bath at night was overwhelming and completed a perfect wellness evening.
