"crazy" Germans enjoy group feeling |
I find it difficult to decide on my favourite memory of our time in Bath. Maybe it was the beautiful weather and the amazing town that made it so special or maybe the many things we saw. Maybe it was the day we spent driving around in a coach (not bus!!) and visiting all those interesting places that helped us expand our knowledge on English abbeys, cathedrals and national parks. Maybe it was the week I spent eating fish & chips and Cornish pasties and drinking ales in various pubs.
However, when thinking back I hold the memory of our last evening/ night in mind. Most of us met in the kitchen of one the houses, had a few drinks and then took one of the last coaches down to the town centre. There we went to a pub that would take all of us and generally just had a few pints, sang the songs being played and talked. At that moment it did not matter any longer next to whom you sat, you just talked to anyone you were interested in. The dynamic and open level the group had reached was at its peak, which created a nice atmosphere. Later on we went to lounge or bar-type place and had a few more drinks. The place was not designed to have a dance floor but that did not bother us. We enjoyed the music and the "crazy" Germans decided to party in that place like the owners had never seen before. Naturally partying and going out is good fun but what I am emphasising is the fact that although most of us were total strangers to each other at the beginning of the trip we became acquainted and had an enjoyable time together. On the last evening it was most sociable and relaxed so, if anyone should ask me, I would say my memory of that night is the most noteworthy.
