a picturesque outing

cliff railway My personal highlight on our excursion was our trip to the picturesque towns of Lynton and Lynmouth on the North Devon coast. First we visited the beautiful Wells Cathedral which was built from the early 12th century on. Our trip went on to visit Glastonbury, where King Arthur's grave is supposed to be. The following bus ride to Lynmouth on winding and steep roads was almost like a ride on a roller coaster. On our way through the Exmoor National park we saw some little Exmoor Ponies.
coast In Lynton itself we took a ride in the famous water-powered cliff railway which links Lynton and Lynmouth. At the top we had stunning views of the cliffs and the beautiful little harbour and we could even see the coastline of Wales.
